Ian Gould on a road trip down south. Ian is key on road trips because of his witty remarks and amazing surfing abilities. These days he's more likely to be found on a longboard but still boogies when the conditions are prime.

No words can really describe this pic. Driving two hours after getting up at 3 am is all worth it when you see this at first light.

No this isn't a grab from the new flick Aquatic Ninjas, just another donkey boot from Roldan. He got this board stolen 2 weeks ago at the Option awards and will be looking for redemption at this weekend's Pacoast.

Since its that time of year again I dug up this old picture of Matt "Penis" Woltman and James Murdock during spring break from our senior year in that famous stretch of Pismo on Pomeroy. The scooter and helmet setup always reminds me of Dumb and Dumber when I see it.

photo

Roldan thinking happy thoughts. Brett ripped this wave all the way from the outside and ended up getting a fat foamball pit on the inside shorebreak. He and Louie were going head to head on this day with the best dk attack I have ever witnessed in person.

photo

Blue Crush star Chris Won filmed this shot of Brett backsiding in Hawaii a few years back at an infamously localized north shore break. If it weren't for Won Ton, Roldan would not be getting waves like this

photo

James on a rare ramp at Pismo Beach while an unknown boogie looks on. Although its fun scoring elsewhere, its always the most gratifying to score your local break when its on.

photo

Louie getting pitted at a Santa Barbara County break. Louie's style is different from the conventional Roach standard of speed and tail. He's more about the rail and getting pitted like this.

photo

James on a shorebreak nug at an 805 secret spot. This particular break was supposedly discovered by 80's bodyboarding pioneer Pat Caldwell more than 15 years ago. Recently it has been somewhat rediscovered although access remains difficult.

photo

My brother Joe filmed this at a fun beachbreak near Pismo. Lately all the younger Pismo kids just entering high school have gotten setup with camera gear and its fun seeing their videos and riding progress each time I go home to visit. (ed's note: this shot is of Nick Statom)

Louie looking ahead at a nice section to backdoor at the local beachbreak. Louie has been on a mission since returning from Hawaii, and his confidence level has boosted especially on his backhand.
