Red Dog Roldan kissing the lip at a fun beachbreak just south of Pismo. Roldan got Red Dog as a nickname after a season spent in Hawaii where his preference of Red Dog 40 oz's along with an extreme sunburn turned many heads. Staying true to Pismo's standards, Brett's choice of alcohol hasn't skipped a beat despite having become head of the Vons liquor department.

Roadtrips are the best. It seems like we spend more time searching for waves back home than actual surfing. Here we find ourselves in the back of Mark Miller's car where Josh Ralph is doing his "tinfoil" act. Tin
foil is basically screaming hardcore lyrics into your hand until you lose your voice. This was a good way to get pumped for the waves up north.

Here's another classic shot, this time of Mark Miller. This was in Wilbur's prime and was actually shot by Josh Warthen. Back when Warthen was making Adolescence Mark was a scrawny gangster still in high school who'd shed his Raiders jacket and just go out and bust for all his homies. Now Mark's in San Diego working for No Friends full time and doesn't get out as much but is still just as amped as ever.

2-gloc Murdock on an inviting wedge. We stumbled upon this wave two years ago and have yet to really get it down because its so hard to get to. But when its on, its on and I'm looking forward to surfing there this winter.

Ian Gould is a legend back in Pismo. You won't see this guy for a month and he'll just show up out of nowhere and shred and make you laugh all the while. "Forcum" is Ian's obscure middle name. But Ian's middle name isn't as strange as his other passions: building missiles for Vandenberg and playing roller hockey for Cal Poly. Here's Ian bottom turning into a nice one up north.

If you've seen the credits of No Friends 3 this site may seem familiar. These kids just have to push the limits no matter what the particular arena. James Murdock attempting to tame a rather large sea elephant up north.

Another beautiful sunset from the vantage point of the Pismo Pier. Despite the cold water, long flat spells and heavy winds, the pier remains the staple of surfing in the Pismo area and will probably always remain so.

Here's a wave Mark Miller and I found in Southern California of all places. Although tide sensitive, this left hander is pretty heavy and will need further exploring this winter before we produce some real footage.

Here's Stoker backsiding in Pismo, a truly classic shot. If you know Stoker you know he's a freak in every respect. Stoker still takes on the NF projects while maintaining his wife and 9-5 DVD authoring job. Now with a baby on the way and living in Atascadero, the site of Stoker in the water has been taken over by his new passion: mountain biking.

I just thought this picture was weird. In the foreground is Joel "Gummo" Sibley looking as sexy as ever while Louie robles is getting dumped over the falls in a shallow shorebreak somewhere south of Pismo. Gummo doesn't have quite the skills as everybody else but is always down for the count anyways no matter what the occasion. With a child of his own and a wedding imminent, its good to know that Gummo still gets out on occasion.
