About this Site

There's not much content out there these days for bodyboarders. Bodyboarding and Riptide magazine have been cut back to fewer issues per year. Pit is dead and buried. BIM? Decomposed long ago. Luckily there are a few web sites out there where you can find out who's ripping, who's riding for what company, and who is the latest washed-up pro to be busted for drug possession. This site is my little contribution to the online bodyboarding community and I hope that some of you will like what you see.

I named this site 805bbr because I intended it to document the local bodyboarding scene in the 805 area code. Spanning San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties, the 805 is home to some sick waves and great riders like Jacob Reeve, Phil Harnsberger, Kyle Maligro, Ross Mcbride, Erik Eliason, and Brett Roldan. However, since starting the site I moved to San Francisco to work and my brother (who is responsible for most of the frame grabs and video on the site) moved to San Diego to go to school. So now you get the bloated, fat-Elvis version of the 805, basically encompassing most of California south of San Francisco.

I encourage anyone out there to submit video, frame grabs, photos, or writing for use on this site. Also, if you would like to place a bodyboarding related banner ad on the site, I have no qualms with whoring out space in exchange for product hook-ups, cash, and/or funny pictures of midgets. Finally, any vid-makers that submit anything to me are guaranteed a review and a little exposure on the web.
