^^ Epic toobs board! What are the specs on that thing?

42.33 length
12.25 nose
22 width
@ 17.75
18 tail
50/50 rails

carbon @1.75" thick
single stringer (extra long)
double mesh

How do you like that stringer + double mesh? I prefer single stringer boards but sometimes they flex corner to corner more than I would like when dropkneeing, I'm wondering if that would be addressed by the double mesh without adding too much to the overall stiffness.

I love the adding the double mesh since it boosts projection and gives a more even flex distribution. It does add a bit of stiffness but hardly anything when comparing it to adding another stringer. Once you break it in you're golden

nice.. a garage can do terrible things to a bodyboard

is there a bit of a curve to the nose? looks a bit rounded might just be the pic

bbr's toobs is sick, and yosh always rollin with an immaculate toobs.. i dont see why anyone (at least californian) wouldn't get a toobs.

what good fun

Re: Rides.....

^ No curve in the nose of that Mirage. 1990s Manta boards were awesome. They had awesome polypro cores that were extremely light and lasted for a long time. I also loved their 2 piece noses and thumb grooves along the nose and rails. Shame about their super-thick, boat-like shape and crappy slick material though.

Re: Rides.....

i guess you could say it was a mirage?

..of the few old Manta's i've seen personally; i agree with all the points you've brought up.. light, but lacking in other areas/materials

That's right! No curve whatsoever!!!I would have brought it back but plane stuff, plus water's too cold here, and I leave for my nephews back home so they can grow interest :)

I have not gotten much solid surf with it yet, summer has been either shitty swell wise, or too busy to get out there. The few decent waves with it I can tell it's going to be a sick board. I'm looking forward to when it starts to pump here in the fall. (Hopefully)

I got it at asylum (Formerly known at action beach) in Oceanside. They had it up on the rack and ended up putting a price tag on it...I can't remember what I paid but I know I sold it for like 300 bucks or something to some kid like 4 years ago with is still in the wrapper

Re: Rides.....

I remember selling that board to you Greg.  What a classic board.  We had a BZ Danny Kim (slick deck and bottom) and a Challenger Dynacor both still in the wrapper too.
