Topic: SESSION REPORTS

RE-INTRODUCING THIS TOPIC:

My OB sessioni 10-12 tda at inside Sloat was pretty decent. Sunny and glassy. The dying short interval swell had occasional shape with some peelers and mini shax;   max shoulder high. The rest of OB was crap. Talked to a guy who said he got Linda Mush down in PacifiCity pretty good.

Re: SESSION REPORTS

I should have gone wakeboarding on the ocean today. 2-3ft@5 sec.  It was a longboard fest, did not go out, tomorrow looks ok. well see.

To you-is it movement or is it action?   It is contact or just reaction?    And you-revolution or just resistance?    Is it living, or just existence?

Re: SESSION REPORTS

i surfed pismo in the morning today and it was way sick super long rides then i surfed once again in the afternoon and it was good untill a bunch of little kids came out in the afternoon and ruined everything.

Re: SESSION REPORTS

hah if lindasuck gets good.... i used to surf there alot cause my friends who sorta surf said it was "good", and were too pussy to go into waves with power anyways. ive only seen it good once or maybe twice. head high mush peaks with longboarders on it like flies on shit. occasionally the shorebreak works. however, when its really big and blown, it has an inside on high tide which can get fun. wedgy wedgy peaks. just increeedibly inconsistent.

Re: SESSION REPORTS

Creek was fun, not great or anything, but well worth getting wet for...

What a beautiful morning, almost forgot what color the sky's supposed to be!!!!.....

Scored glassy, offshore, 2-4ft peaks, todays dawn patrol...

Occasional shoulder to headhigh on the best waves...

Slower on the high tide, but so nice to be in the water...

Re: SESSION REPORTS

have to say that today was an epic day.  buoy report was 3-4 at 9sec.  Expecting a crapola day but found out this sand spit bar was working on the high tide going to low.  5-6 foot consistent faces with set waves going 8ft peaky gaping barrels.  No wind and glassy swell lines.  A great day on the N. Coast.  Have to complain about one thing, some crabbing boat must have spilled some diesel fuel in the water because there was this horrible stench out there.  1145-3pm session. Hope you guys are getting this unexpected interval down there.

Re: SESSION REPORTS

Its nice but now a pot of "joe" and work till 9pm.

Owning your own is the key, but aren’t employers in the bay area more liberal on work days? Maybe let you work 4-10hr days so you always have 3 days off or work your allotted time in a work week, so you can grab a session then head back to punch in a few more hours. Isn’t your field, code/programming liberal in work week schedules?

Bbr, build your client base, do good quality work at a cheap price and slave for 2-3 years and when your client base is well solidified reap the rewards of a small business owner.  One key factor is to never let your performance/quality lag or your back to square one.

Re: SESSION REPORTS

at the moment i'm just a full-time contract worker so i try not to jeapordize my job by coming in too late.  they're cool with coming in by 9:30 so that's enough time for a decent morning session, hopefully once i get salary i can push it back to 10 once in a while.  its' pretty cool, all young dudes who like to get buzz-on... http://kadium.com/party/ (our xmas party that i missed while i was in europe)

thanks for the business suggestions :)

Hey Alex: Those're some new-age urban-metro looking dudes. Can't wait until you roll up at OB sporting a soul patch?

Re: SESSION REPORTS

Today sucked and it was nothing like yesterday.  Looked at it for about 10 min and all I could see were longboarders.  2ft maybe 3ft faces.  Crap, mushing waves.
Funny though how it was the same time as yesterday and there were only 4-6 of us out taking off on 2-3 peaks.  Today mush 2 ft waves and 10-15 people out.  Amazing!

Had a guy today say to me that he saw some of my waves yesterday and was impressed what bogieboarders could do. I immediatly gave him the stink eye and he quickly corrected the sentence and said bodyboarders. As Aretha would say RESPECT

Re: SESSION REPORTS

What I learned today:

1)  How to get barred at the norcal spot voted most likely to break on a small-to-tiny short interval gutless NW;

2)  You can't stare at a peak until it starts firing, unless something changes, like the swell grows guts;

3) Hiking up and down hills is better excercise than an average session at my local spot;

4) There's a good reason that Roger Bannister became the first human to break the four minute mile barrier by training on sand dunes near his home in England.

5) The Receding Target Theorem of wave decency anlaysis is provable by walking south on a west coast beach and studying the rights breaking away from your position. The converse corrolary is also true as to walking northward and evaluating lefts.

6) PR Nat'nl seashore has some funky, ugly, discolored motherfucking herds of some mutant strain of deer.

7) When the Ocean's surface is super clean and the air is "ionic breeze" clean you can count lots of "whole food chain" type baitballs extending to the horizon when the baitfish are schooling. It gives you one reason to rejoice in flatness.

8) PR has some very exciting underwater sand configuration which bear further anlaysis some time when waves are present.

9) The place not only has it's own geo-techtonic plate, but a weather system far superior to the adjoining mainland.

10) getting barred still sucks.

Re: SESSION REPORTS

Seriously, these things were kinda like reindeer, I swear one of them had a red nose and strap marks. It jumped oumt from behind a bush  and startled the shit out of Wesley. I think we caught it whacking off. (or was that wes?)

Those are probably some kind of protected species but my vote is to hunt them to extinction, then scare off the elephant seals pupping on the beach and shred the hell out of the sanmndbar peaks we spocked for the next swell. Super clean, fun and, with some power, ....bonerrific!!!

Re: SESSION REPORTS

Did the deer look like these.  Those are axis deer non-native to the americas.

Re: SESSION REPORTS

Yeah, That's the guys that were stalking us. WTF are they doing there? Up at the other end there are semi native elk, which are big and somewhat intimidating. These were just kinda out of place. They hung in a herd like the elk, not like the native deer. Seriously, what is the reason for their presence in that location, if you know, being a wildlife biologist and all :>)

Re: SESSION REPORTS

Ok, back in the forties, a previous landowner before the NPS decided to release some axis deer (native to India and surrounding areas) as well as fallow deer (native to asia).  The NPS policy is to cull (remove /kill) these deer that threaten the native ungulate population.  The NPS is going through tough times with marin locals because the views that removing non-native individuals is unethical.  Very political situation that I have no interest in getting into.  The native deer (Columbian black-tail) and elk (tule) are not greatly expanding due to the competition these non-natives place on them.

Re: SESSION REPORTS

Art, you were correct that these guys do frequently masturbate.  But according to my scientific opinion it is statistically significant (p< 0.05) utilizing a non-parametric test that they need to masturbate near the presence of young men that are 35 and younger.  So since you don’t fit in that category then they must have been someone in your party participating in this event.

Re: SESSION REPORTS

sw swell 3-5ft .. multiple peaks.  Caught it good for 45min then the swell picked up but the shape went to crap.  current running N killed my legs. never stopped paddling for the whole 1.5hr session.
Suppose to get bigger tomm, we'll see.  but going to a point that will kill that north current.

Did you guys get the Nseashore good?

Re: SESSION REPORTS

tonight was kinda fun at OB, occasional 3 foot right bowls bouncing off the rocks with perfect winds.  had to bust out the preying mantis on a couple waste high bombs.  drove up north to shark central earlier today and got skunked, tons of potential up there though.  wes and t707m did you guys end up surfing after i left?

Re: SESSION REPORTS

nope.  the beach we hiked down to was straight offshore and almost working.  Needed 2 more feet.

It's funny how the only day you drive to NB it's flat and mushy.  "It's like Old Man's."  Today was one of the few days I have seen it below head high.
