Im eligible for an upgrade and looking to get my first smartphone...which one is better: the droid incredible or droid x? Are there any phones I should wait for in the future.
Let me know. Thanks.

I got the incredible love it so far. Supposed to be getting an update for 720p and mobile hotspot along with android 2.2 soon. The biggest difference Is the screen size on the x is bigger. Both are sick phones and after being a blackberry user for 3 years, I'm loving android for it's customization and marketplace. The blackberry app world was pretty awful. Go to a vzw store and play with both phones.

word up. thanks, ryan. how is the battery life?

The droid incredible drains the battery, especially if you use the map. I have the normal one, and it's nice to have a keyboard also. Good phones.

The HTC Droid is the biggest piece of shit ive ever had. It lags, freezes, and the only way it makes it through the day without a battery charge is to barely use it. Im looking to go to a Blackberry. I hate it. But ive heard good things about the other ones. Just dont get any HTC droid.

are you guys leaving apps running in the background?
task killers are your friends.

Battery life is supposed to be fixed with 2.2 being released.

word. if you wanna take about annoying try having to do a blackberry battery pull every other hour cuz your phone freezes up.
my battery life on my incredible lasts a whole work day, i charge it overnight and during the day i check emails, little web browsing, lots of calls and i have been playing around with the navigation, which is pretty sick.
the reason i chose the htc incredible over the moto droid x is the size factor and i liked the htc sense gui over the stock motoblur one on the X. both are sick phones though, i am normally an apple guy but im on verizon and am not switching any time soon.

i bought my lady the droid with the keyboard, she tried the one without the keyboard and said it sucked.
you can save money by purchasing it online from verizon and not have to wait for your mail in rebate.

my battery never runs out. then again I don't expect to use it all day long without charging at some point... whether at home or in the car you should be in the habit of pluging it in a one or two points during the day if you are going to use it. and yes as aaron says you need to kill apps once. having on nav sucks battery too.
I've had mine since it first came out and probably ran the battery down only two or three times!! Also I mine never lags or freezes... well, on rare occasion so I reboot or kill the apps and it works like great again

the app killer is key, just like a computer these little mini computer phones are loaded with bloatware and unecessary shit you don't need.

For texting, look into slide it keyboard or swype, its pretty cool

Have any of you stepped up and rooted your droid?

Nice, I'm just a tad concerned about the whole "brick" factor. What website did you use to find the info? Most everywhere I check it seems lke dated information.

Rumor mill is up and going at full speed right now about iphone coming to Verizon end of year or January 2011. It's known that Apple has been stockpiling parts for a CDMA network based phone. I know this rumor happens every year, but this time there's reportedly multiple solid sources..... have to see how it plays out.
