Me and my buddy are in the process of acquiring a go pro cam for sinister purposes. Were gona film a vid of nothing but footage of civilians/barneys fixing to get runover by a sponger.
Nothing better than seeing those pupils get huge, as they see u racing towards them. That's the price they pay for swimming in the surf zone. Were gona call the vid "speed bumbs"....lol
Of course they never really get nailed, but that split second "fear in their eyes", never gets old.
Anybody else get a kick out of scaring a swimmer ?

This reminds me of years ago I went to the first wave pool ever built in Arizona. They only had air matts and had never seen a boogie. They had so many people in the pool that when a wave came (once every 90 sec.) you could only ride a wave for a little bit until so many people stacked up you couldn't get over them. So the goal was to see how far you could ride a wave. It was nuts.
Anyway, I did a search in here's a video that gives you an idea of what I'm talking about.

lol... That's the problem with the internet, It's real easy to profile someone based on what they write. I prolly write a little strange cause english is still my second language.
I get along with everybody in"real" life and treat people with respect also. No anger here brother. I'm a funny mutherfucker actually.

This thread is not about a silly vid were gona post on youtube. It's about asking you the rider, how you deal with speed bumbs?
U scare them or just straight run them over? Got some stories? I ran over plenty in my hay day...

tell you the truth.....don't really worry about swimmers. If they're in the way then that usually means the waves are too shitty to be out there anyways. 9 out of 10 swimmers around here don't go past the inside/ shorebreak and if it's heavy shorebreak then they're not out there.
With that said if you're gonna make a video of being an ass, I'm sure Eddie Solomon will be the only one hyped on it. Should go get your OC buzz on and spray tourists at Creek with him one day..............

I just got some footage with my roommate's gopro of me running straight over the back half of a longboarder paddling across the inside...it was the third time he'd gotten right in the way & 10ft of board longways is a bigass obstacle. Finished out the wave & no injuries to anyone so its was all G...I'll post up the vid once I bother to put it on vimeo.

Bahaa! The responses(not all) on this thread exemplify why this forum is the schnit. Where I'm from, seeing a another sponger is as rare as seeing a bigfoot.
No groms pick up a boogie and they all ride a stick. So there's a sense of unity when u see a another rider. Most come by and say what's up.
Cali is lucky to have a lot of spongers. Surprisingly, a local rider who visited cali a while back, was only hasseled by a another sponger while there. Caught him off guard...lol
